Anabolic Steroids and Libido: A Complete Guide

Anabolic Steroids and Libido: A Complete Guide

I. What is libido?

Libido is a term we commonly use to describe the sex drive or desire for sexual activity. That is to say, the libido is a state – at the psychological level – that manifests itself in the desire to engage in sexual behavior.

The libido was conceived as purely biological in origin, but today it is influenced by developmental, psychosocial and cultural factors. She is too directly affected by testosterone levels in the body.

There is no definition of what constitutes the β€œnormal” level of sexual desire or libido - these levels are completely individual, and vary from person to person. It is up to you to determine your normal level of libido. What is certain is that when the libido decreases or increases, you will feel it!

In both men and women, libido is directly linked to hormones androgens (especially testosterone). Since men have around 40 times more testosterone than women, they are thought to have a more intense sex drive; however, more aggressive behavior is also demonstrated.

II. How do steroids affect libido?

If the libido is affected by testosterone levels then obviously steroids will have an impact as well. Because steroids carry androgenic hormones (like testosterone), this can have widely varying effects on libido. In general, the more testosterone in the body, the higher the libido.

On the other hand, there are little conclusive research to be certain of the effects of steroids on libido - many results are contradictory and provide little evidence. The effects of steroids on sexual desire and motivation are an issue still under debate.

According to some studies, there is a possibility of long-term effects.

Although high doses of steroids appear to protect erectile function and increase libido during use, some symptoms such as decreased libido and erectile dysfunction occurred more frequently after discontinuation of steroid use, particularly in those using more frequently and for longer durations. The severity and duration of these side effects greatly depend on the steroid(s) the individual is using, the frequency, dosage, and duration of use.

III. The libido-boosting steroids

As men get older, it is natural to have lower testosterone levels. This is why many men over 40 choose steroids simply to boost libido. But, there are steroids that both boost libido and provide physical performance enhancement!

Here are examples of steroids and supplements stimulating libido:

1. Proviron:

Also known as Mesterolone, Proviron is known to increase testosterone levels and in turn increase libido. It is a SAA (anabolic steroid androgen) which is prescribed by doctors specifically to increase testosterone It is prescribed by doctors specifically to increase testosterone in men with hypogonadism, a condition that results in low testosterone. For this reason, it is not known to help build muscle like other steroids do. For this purpose, a dose of 25 mg per day is sufficient. However, if you are also looking for physical results, a typical dose is 50-70mg. This steroid is not recommended for women, but there are some who use it.

2. DHEA:

DHEA or DHA is short for β€œDeHydroEpiAndrosterone.” It is a hormone produced in large quantities by the adrenal glands. This hormone belongs to the family of steroid hormones, like sex hormones. DHEA is an endogenous steroid hormone precursor. It is one of the most abundant circulating steroids in humans. Many steroid users take DHEA as post cycle therapy to reduce the most harmful long term effects of steroid use, but studies have shown that taking DHEA alone can increase testosterone levels and, in turn, increase libido.

3. Clenbuterol:

Clenbuterol is a steroid often taken only for libido enhancement with very few side effects (if used as recommended). It is a popular steroid among women.

4. Oxandrolone:

Also known as Oxandrin and Anavar, Oxandrolone is a steroid often used for muscle bulking. An additional positive side effect is increased libido. If you are looking for a steroid that increases both mass and libido, this might be the one for you.

5. Trenbolone:

Trenbolone is more commonly known as bulking steroids. Still, many users have reported an increase in libido when using

Conclusion

In order for your body to continue producing its own natural testosterone, be sure to follow your steroid cycle with post cycle therapy (PCT). This will help your body to wean off the steroids, switching to a natural production of testosterone which will in turn increase your libido.

Before taking any steroids or other supplements, it is strongly recommended that you consult a physician to ensure safe use that will not produce more harm than good. The use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs is an ancient practice that will continue, with or without regulations and bans. So if you choose to participate, it is better to do so under the best possible conditions.
